Saving Money and Saving Lives

The state of California offers $15,000 per pupil. For 200 students, there is $3 million dollars the state offers. Miracle University needs $2-4 million dollars during the first year for 500 students. Every year 200 new students will join Miracle University in the 9th grade. During its 4th year, Miracle University will have 800 students. The state will pay $12 million dollars for 800 students. Miracle University will need $4-5 million dollars during its 4th year of operation. Grants will also be written to Foundations

For $12 million, Miracle University will ensure that 800 students, who were once at risk of becoming prey to a vicious cycle of dropping out of school, engaging in crime, violence, getting incarcerated, facing homelessness and costing the economy millions of dollars, will graduate and be on a path to earning admission to a 4-year college or a trade school leading to a high-paying job in the career of their choice.

• 5,000 9th grade “Pushouts” in Sacramento have less than a 1.5 GPA or a D/F average in school today
• These 5000 9th graders are most at risk of missing school, failing classes, getting suspended and pushed out
• These 5000 9th graders are 75% likely to drop out of their public high school and will not attend most charter schools
• Dropouts are 8 times more likely to be incarcerated
• 82% of Prison Inmates are Dropouts
• Those 82% of inmates cost taxpayers $80 Billion per year
• Dropouts are 5 times likely to experience homelessness
• Dropouts’ on average live 10 years less than graduates
• The average high school dropout costs economy $272,000
• 70% of inmates return to prison in 3 years
• 5,000 Dropouts will cost our state over $1 billion.
• 70% of Inmates are Black and Latino

• 5,000 9th grade “Pushouts” will in 4 years graduate with high school diploma and a character of service to society
• 5,000 9th grade “Pushouts” will in 4 years earn admission to 4 year college or to a trade school
• 5,000 9th grade “Pushouts” will have the opportunity to gain their Associates Degree while in Miracle College
• Average high school graduate earns $300,000 more than the average high school dropout in lifetime
• High school graduates have a longer life expectancy and lead a healthier lifestyle than dropouts
